Warriors Art Room Partners with the 104th Fighter Wing for Painting Workshop

Empowering Veterans Through Art: Warriors Art Room’s Workshop with the 104th Fighter Wing
At Warriors Art Room, we believe art can create space for connection, reflection, and growth. We recently had the opportunity to partner with the 104th Fighter Wing in Westfield for a special workshop led by our founder, Steve Jones, along with artist Cheyenne. Held at the Westfield VFW, the event brought service members together for an afternoon of creativity, conversation, and community.
A Workshop Built Around Creativity and Connection
The workshop gave participants the chance to step away from their daily routines and spend time creating in a relaxed, supportive setting. Guided by Steve and Cheyenne, attendees worked through a painting project together, learning techniques, following instruction, and putting their own spin on the final piece.
The room was filled with energy, focus, and plenty of conversation. Some participants arrived with artistic experience, while others were picking up a brush for the first time. That mix is part of what made the event special. It was not about perfection. It was about showing up, trying something new, and creating alongside others.
Why These Workshops Matter
Creative workshops like this offer more than just an enjoyable activity. They provide an opportunity to slow down, engage in something hands-on, and connect with others in a meaningful way. For many veterans and service members, spaces like these can be a valuable outlet for expression, stress relief, and community building.
At Warriors Art Room, we have seen how art can help people open up, build confidence, and strengthen relationships. Workshops create room for conversation and shared experience, while also giving participants something tangible they can be proud of at the end of the day.
Strengthening Our Outreach
Our collaboration with the 104th Fighter Wing is a great example of the kind of outreach we want to continue building. Warriors Art Room is committed to making creative opportunities more accessible to veterans, active duty service members, and their families. By bringing workshops directly into the community, we can reach people who may not otherwise step into a traditional art space.
We are grateful for the opportunity to work with the 104th Fighter Wing and proud of everyone who participated. Events like this remind us why this work matters and why it is so important to keep creating opportunities for connection through art.
Looking Ahead
Warriors Art Room remains committed to serving the military-connected community through workshops, exhibitions, and creative programming. We look forward to hosting more events like this in the future and continuing to grow our impact.
