SUMMARY:PLAYING WITH THE PAST
DESCRIPTION:Chris Bordenca is the next featured artist at the Warriors Art Room. \nChris is a painter whose work explores personal connections to the objects and places of his youth in the 1970s and 1980s. His paintings often draw from the visual world of action figures\, toys\, and classic video games\, turning familiar images into thoughtful\, nostalgic works of art. Chris has exhibited throughout New England in both solo and group shows\, and several of his paintings have received awards\, including Pink Pony Club\, which won First Place for acrylic painting at the Northeast Fine Arts Exposition in 2025. \nHe was the Amherst Public Art Commission’s featured artist for November and December 2020 and made his first appearance at the 2023 Spring Paradise City Arts Festival in Northampton\, Massachusetts. His work can also be found in shops in Amherst\, Provincetown\, and Hadley\, and in private collections around the world. \nChris is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts Amherst\, where he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. He lives in Ludlow\, Massachusetts with his family. \nAs part of this show\, Chris will generously donate 20% of all proceeds back to the Warriors Art Room\, helping support our mission and the artists and veterans we serve. \n“Almost nothing gets forgotten anymore. The past exists in the collective memory of the internet\, and we can reach in and physically bring those memories into our present.” — Chris Bordenca \nFollow Chris on Instagram at @chris_bordenca_art to watch time-lapse videos of his painting process\, and visit his website at chrisbordenca.com for original paintings and prints.
